Dive 3.1.0 for HP HPUX 9.0x platforms
1. Software requirements
These binaries require IP Multicast support in the
HP-UX kernel.
Graphics
"vishnu", the default Dive viewer, uses the MesaGL 1.2.8 graphic
library for rendering. The library is statically linked. MesaGL
does not require any specific 3D Hardware, thus its performance is
directly related to CPU and X server performance. When running the
Dive viewer, reducing the size of the rendering window and/or
rendering in "Wireframe" mode will increase the frame rate.
"vishnu" can also use the Iris GL look-a-like from Portable Graphics, called NPGL.
You will need an NPGL license to be able to run this binary.
Audio
Dive three-dimensional audio is not yet implemented on HPs.
2. Fetching binaries
Follow these steps to fetch and try Dive 3.1.0:
- Fetch the Dive
distribution for HP HPUX 9 by anonymous ftp. (Either select the
link, or, since some web-browsers have ftp-interface problems, use ftp
explicitly on ftp://ftp.sics.se/pub/dive/dive3.1.0.hpux.tar.gz).
The file is approximately 5 M.
- Place the distribution file dive3.1.0.hpux.tar.gz in a suitable directory.
- Follow the installation instructions to install and start Dive.
vishnu is dynamically linked with the X libraries, but you should be
able to execute the binary directly. If you encounter problems, try
setting the LPATH and SHLIB_PATH environment variables.
You might also want to follow a tutorial,
or check the manual.
