DIVE 3.3x Distribution

-----

This page contains the DIVE 3.3x (eXperimental) binary distribution (July 1999) from SICS. The distribution is covered by a license but binaries are available for free for non-commercial use. DIVE 3.3x includes many new features.

Traditionally, we have tried to test thouroughly and document to the best of our possibilities the platform before releasing it. This generally requires a lot of time and man-power, both things being crucial resources that we often lack. We have named this release 3.3x in order to stress that it differed considerably from the previous 3.2 release, but also that we were not able to test and especially document the platform as much as usual.

In an attempt to get more information on our user base, we have slightly changed the way to access the binary distribution. We will ask you to fill in an E-Mail address before being able to fetch the various DIVE 3.3x archives. We will not redistribute your personal information further on, this is for internal use at SICS only.

DIVE 3.3x is available on the following platforms:

In order to fetch a binary copy of DIVE, follow this link. There, you will be able retrieve data files and the default DIVE application (vishnu) and the multi-user server (diveserver) in binary form. Archives will be added progressively under the coming weeks, so please come by later if a particular subset of the distribution was missing. Do not hesitate to contact us if you desperately need a given subset.

Are you missing a platform? We know, no MacOS or Win95/98 versions are currently available. If you would have interest in some other platform support, please tell us!

Once you have brought over the system, follow the installation information and try the (outdated) web-based tutorial.

See also the DIVE manual.

As always, we welcome any comments on systems, interface, functionalities, etc. There are two mail addresses that you can use for that purpose. Both addresses are directed to several of the DIVE developpers, so as to ensure that you will reach the most adequate person. All traffic on these lists is monitored and available as a set of web pages. Be sure to browse through these archives, the answer to your problem can be there.
