Funding

The Future Application lab is funded by a number sources, including:
>>> The Mobile Life VINN Excellence Centre, a collaboration between Stockholm University and industrial and academic partners, funded by VINNOVA and partners for a total of 210 MSEK over 10 years

>>> LIREC - Living With Robots and Interactive Companions, a collaboration between six universities, two research institutes and two companies spread across seven European countries, funded by the European Union

>>> INGVAR - Individual Grant for the Advancement of Young Research leaders, a personal 9 MSEK grant funded by the Foundation for Strategic Research


Previous FAL funding includes:
>>> The project Mobile Services, in collaboration with SICS and Interactive Institute, is funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (2002-2005)

>>> The ECAgents: Embodied and Communicating Agents project is funded by the European Commission in the Information Society Technologies program (2004-2007)

>>> The services fees from the Viktora Institute's members funded the basic operating costs of the institute when FAL was part of Viktoria
>>> Smart-Its and the Pin&Play assesment project were funded by the Future and Emerging Technologies section of the European Union's IST program, and were part of the Disappearing Computer initiative (2001-2003)
