| photo | ENCORE ENCORE extends the notion of collaborative filtering by (1) investigating combinations of content - and social filtering, (2) finding new ways of presenting and explaining recommendations, and (3) looks into how theses systems can be used in decentralized systems Contact: Martin Svensson | ||||||||
| photo | EPTMSE The purpose of the project Enabling and Promoting Trust in Micro Service Environments (EPTMSE) is to study, design, and implement methods and technology for ensuring a trustworthy experience between users and services in micro service environments. The EPTMSE project is a collaborative project between SICS, Appear Networks, and TeliaSonera. Contact: Fredrik Espinoza | ||||||||

| photo | FetchProt The project FetchProt aims at providing both academia and industry in the biotechnology and life science areas with a publicly available infrastructure for management and retrieval of knowledge about protein functions. Contact: Kristofer Franzén | ||||||||
![]() | Kaktus Tries to create a socially and emotionally rich gaming environment in which the user has to make the right decisions in order to maintain friendships and relations. Through traditional and untraditional AI techniques, Kaktus seeks to simulate emotionally and socially intelligent reactions in artificial characters. Contact: Jarmo Laaksolahti
![]() | Korall Vetenskaplig rapportering och seminarieverksameht. Finansierat av SICS. Contact: Jussi Karlgren
![]() | MagiCster Funded by the EU, explores the use of animated, pedagogical interface agents. Contact: Jarmo Laaksolahti
![]() | MobiTip MobiTip is a social mobile service for exchanging recommendations, comments and tips within a loosely defined domain such as a shopping mall or a conference site. Bluetooth connectivity is used to form a social space of nearby devices that is used as key input for the collaborative filtering of tips. The social space is visualized to show other users nearby, emphasising that tips are initiated by peers. Contact: Martin Svensson/Åsa Rudström
| photo | MOSES We aim to develop innovative mobile services and the corresponding supporting technology and platforms. Our research method involves moving beyond the creation of individual services and form general design approaches, methods, and middleware. Contact: Martin Svensson | ||||||||
![]() | Proteinhalt i text At the intersection of bioinformatics and computational linguistics, the project "Proteinhalt i text" (protein concentration in text) develops methods for automatic identification of names of proteins. Contact: Kristofer Franzén
![]() | SCHOLNET Funded by the EU, deploys technology in a digital library of technical reports. Contact: Jussi Karlgren
| photo | SENAV Funded by KFB , tries to establish how much of the results concerning elderly and navigation in the real world can be transferred to the virtual world. Contact: Marie Sjölinder | ||||||||
| SIBLINGS Started in August 2001. We plan to implement a prototype based on multimodal interfaces replacing or complementing the components or widgets of the graphical user interface, using combinations of speech recognition, online handwriting recognition, and gesture recognition. We have selected a music tool scenario, among architecture, management, and logistics tool user scenarios. Contact: Rickard Lindell | |||||||||
![]() | SLIM Secure Legal Information Management. Samarbetsprojekt med Institutet för rättsinformatik vid Stockholms Universitet, finansierat av Riksbankens jubileumsfond. Contact: Jussi Karlgren
![]() | sView Funded by SITI, has two purposes: to build a working prototype implementation of a Personal Service Environment (PSE) and to perform research using the platform. The purpose of the prototype is to tackle the shortcomings of the World Wide Web as a platform for providing services. The research to be done using the platform is in the field of user-service interaction and will focus on user involvement in cooperation between services, user personalization, user integrity, and increasing user control. Contact: Fredrik Espinoza
| photo | TAP The TAP project makes agent technology and other forms of autonomous software accessible to the public through live applications. The first live case is trading agents, which represents assistant software. The second live case is controlling the spread of communicable infectious diseases, which represents agent-based social simulation. In a similar manner, future live cases will capture portions of established technologies in this area of research, always with an eye on practical employment. Contact: Magnus Boman | ||||||||
