DropJaw - and Easify

Easify is an interface for presenting information retrieval results. The DropJaw project, which Easify is a result of, was initiated by Ivan Bretan at Telia Research with the cooperation of Jussi Karlgren at SICS; most of the hard work was done by Johan Dewe and Anders Hallberg from KTH who wrote their M Sc theses as part of the project, and Niklas Wolkert who did the interaction design. Contact jussi@sics.se for further information.

Example Interaction

First, the user enters a query. Easify displays the retrieved items on the genre-by-cluster space.

The user examines the titles of items in the clusters. By mousing on the cluster, a list of titles pops up. This is the title list of one of the green clusters in the Link List column on the screen.

Based on the popup list of titles, some clusters are better than others and are dragged up to the regroup panel.

The selected clusters are regrouped, to get a more fine-grained clustering.
