MobiTip list of Known Issues

* Yes, there are bugs, the most notable being that you cannot store an item with a new entry in the "is a/n" field. We are working on it!
* Are you having problems making it work on the P910? You might try downloading and installing this JAR file instead of the installation package. Note that you should "always accept local connectivity" (alt. until the midlet ends) when starting the application, and "accept until midlet ends" when syncrhonizing, i.e. connecting via http.
* There is something wrong with the security policy for the Bluetooth module which in effect forces a phone running in Bluetooth Server mode to verify all inocming connections (although the application has been verified as trusted). This has the unfortunate effect of forcing the party acting as server in communiction between two MobiTip phones having to verify the connection. We believe this is a bug in the JSR-82 implementation and are currently looking for a solution. If anyone knows how to solve this please let us know.
* On occasions the MobiTip application has crasched during http communication (over GPRS) with the MobiTip Server. This problem seems to be due to Bluetooth communication interferring - try turning Bluetooth off when synchronizing.
* On rare occasions MobiTip will not start in a trusted mode (i.e., the certificate verification fails) which can be noticed by your having to accept the "Server.accept" message on startup. If this happens simply quit and restart the application.
* Bluetooth discovery can be slow, so be patient. In addition, MobiTip tries to minimize communication between devices by waiting a certain time before trying to connect to an already discovered device. If MobiTip does not connect to another MobiTip device in a reasonable time frame, you may try to restart MobiTip on one of the devices. The Bluetooth discovery process is something that we are looking into.
* MobiTip collects a fair amount of log data which gets flushed to our MobiTip server everytime "Synch" is made. So, to avoid MobiTip using space on the phone and to allow us to evaluate usage we urge you to synchronize MobiTip with the server from time to time.
* Finally, we once again want to stress that this is a research prototype and as such may crash or act strange. If you experience problems with the application our best advice is the classical one: uninstall and reinstall!
