An outdoors location-aware information system

Imagine walking in a park where statues talk and fountains play music. This will be possible in the future versions of the Spirit system. We have built an out-door location-aware information system to be used by a person on foot. By using satellite positioning the system keeps track of the position of users with an accuracy of a few meters. Information about nearby objects, including other users, is retrieved from a server and presented to the user. Information will be presented using audio.
