Synopsis

KARMA is a joint research project between Karolinska Institutet's department for endocrinology, Mando AB and the Interaction Laboratory of SICS. The project is funded by Vinnova and targets the development of a character-based therapeutic application for eating disorders.

The system is developed using a user-centered, prototype-based iterative process. We used cultural probes to create an understanding of the patients. On our way to build a hi-fi Wizard-of-Oz prototype (which will be built using the Source engine, notable as the engine under the hood of action game Half-Life 2), we have been using lo-fi techniques such as prototyping for tiny fingers.
