• Tacton Systems has a configurator called Tacton Configurator.
• Attar Software Ltd (UK) has developed XpertRule Configurer, based on their expert system shell XpertRule. It is also marketed by Cincom as Configurator Workbench and SalesConfigurator (see below).
• Calico Technology (San Jose), has a suite of tools for sales configuration, based on dynamic constraint satisfaction.
• Configuration Systems and Consulting (MI) sell Logia Configurator.
• Concentra (Mass.) has a configuration tool called Selling Point.
• Configura Sverige AB (Linköping) has Configura.
• Trilogy (Austin) has a configurator called SalesBUILDER, based on resource balancing and constructive heuristic search.

Configurators in business systems

The following vendors of more general business systems have support tools for product configuration:

• BAAN has aquired Antalys and their configurator Classys, as well as Beologic and their boolean constraint-sovling configurator Sales Plus.
• CWC (Clear with Computers) (Sales Force Automation only) offer sales configuration as part of their SFA support
• Cincom's Acquire suite includes a configurator developed by Attar (see above) in the form of Configurator Worbench and SalesConfigurator
• Client Technologies (formerly Data Systems Support) launched a low-end rule-based configurator called CPQ (Configuration, Proposal, Quotation) in June '96, as a module of their Sales Information Response System (SIRS)
• Intentia have a back-office configurator in their Movex system, which can be used for sales configuration
• Oracle Applications for supply chain management have what is called Oracle Configurator, which "ensures that complex configurations are valid prior to order booking"
• SAP in their R/3 system have a package for Sales and Distribution which includes an "integrated configurator for configured products or service and rental contracts", based on constraint propagation
