Product Configuration

The configuration research at SICS Intelligent Systems Laboratory focuses on tools specialized for product configuration tasks, and methods and techniques for applying them. Our configurators are based on logic programming and constraint programming, using the powerful and highly efficient programming systems SICStus Prolog and Oz.

Current activities

Since late in 1996, Ericsson has decided to use our configurator Obelics in sales configuration systems for a large number of product lines in several business units. This has fuelled our continued development of Obelics, which is now the most powerful sales configurator on the market. Consequently, decisions have been made to transform our research group into a spin-off company. Watch SICS configuration web-site for more info on the spin-off!
