Personal Assistans the Next Generation
a SICS Intelligent Systems Laboratory project
in collaboration with Ericsson Radio Systems
Contact: Johan Montelius, Updated: May 9, 1997
In colaboration with Ericsson we look at how telephone calls will be
handled in the future. What happens when when your personal assistant
not only directs your incomming calls but also starts to talk and negotiate
with other personal assistants.
The project is conducted behind the Ericsson fire-walls so this
page will only contain pointers to relevant information that can
be found on the Web.
Organizations
There are several oganizations where operators and vendors colaborate
to agree on new standards for telecommunication. The mosts important
are:
- ETSI: a joint european
organisation for telecommunication standards.
- ITU: a international
organization that tries to coordinate global telecom networks and
services. The World Telecom
exhibition and the World
Telecommunication Development Report 95 are a good starting points
if you want to know what is going on in the world of telecommunication.
- The TINA-C: a collaboration
between almost all of the big operators. Their aim is to design the
next generation of telecommunication infra-structure, the Inteligent
Network Architecture.
- IEEE provide pointers to their publications and societies.
The IEEE Communication Society is the most relevant.
Conferences
- ECAI'96:
European Conference on Arificial Inteligens 96 had a workshop,
IATA'96
on Intelligent Agents for Telecoms application.
