Within the Policy Based Reasoning Group, we have developed an authorisation server called Delegent, which is based on the theories from projects within the group. The purpose of Delegent is to provide easy to integrate and administer authorisation for large scale applications. So far we have been using Delegent at the application level, but we wish to explore how to integrate Delegent at a lower level in the middleware layers.
Microsoft has recently provided a reference implementation of the .NET framework, called Rotor, and is sponsoring projects using this implementation. We have received a grant from Microsoft Research to study how to integrate Delegent with Rotor.
