The Second DC Jamboree

The Jamboree will take place in the Restaurant Vågen. Vågen is situated just next to the cinema Draken where the UbiComp conference will be held.

Sending deliveries

If you plan to send larger deliveries of items in advance for the exhibition, please announce this to as well as to the janitor who can be reached at the following telephone number to make sure someone is there to receive it, +46 31 774 30 19. The janitor is usually available between 7-22 during the week. Please also give the estimated weight of the delivery since the elevator is not very large, 160cm x 111 cm and deliveries larger than that has to be carried by hand one floor down.

Please make sure the packages arrive either on Friday 27^th September or Saturday 28^th September to make sure they can be stored properly. The room is occupied the days before with other events and thus it will be hard to find storage space for deliveries arriving earlier.

If you plan to take items yourself, please announce this as well to make sure someone will be there to open up. ShellGeoStar might be useful to find the way. Folkets Hus(the People's Place) where Vågen is situated is close the square called Järntorget. The entrance to bring items into is situated on the backside of Folkets Hus, the address is Heurlins Plats 5. The parking lot just behind the house can not be used for parking, it is reserved for those working at Folkets Hus. Instead visitors are requested to park in the parking house just 100 meters west of Folkets Hus. The address is Nordhemsgatan 9. The three images below show the entrance on the backside of the house where goods has to be taken in and a bit of the main road behind the house from which one has to come from to enter the parkinglot.

By Wednesday afternoon the room must be empty so please make sure all items has been taken away. Order deliveries in advance so they are picked up on Wednesday.

Equipment and connections

Internet connection - Those projects that have requested Internet connection(listed below) will be provided regarding to heir request, either wavelan or ethernet cable. The incoming line is 2Mbit/s which should be enough to share among those projects. There will be a Internet cafe provided next to the exhibition area for reading E-mail and such.
Power supplies - Power outlets in Sweden use the ordinary grounded "Europlug". The default setup per project is 2 outlets, Max. 10A.
Space for posters - Each project will be given 3 poster screen to put up their presentations on. The screens are 100 x 200 cm (WxH) and are placed directly on the floor, no legs! The material on the surface is felting covered board. Pins or Velcro can be used to mount material. The actual board is surrounded by a 52mm wide aluminium frame. It is easy to hook two into each other. To have them stand is necessary to hook two into each other with a small angle in the vertical plane.
Tables and chairs - The default is one table with 2 chairs. The tables are 120cmx70cm or 120x60cm, the height is about 70 cm.

Useful information

There is an ironmonger's shop just next to Folkets Hus if that carries a large variety of items that might be need. Unfortunately it is not opened on Sundays. Open hours are Mon-Fri 8:00-18:00, Sat 9:00-14:00.
