Shared Augmented Space

KidStory works with children, educators, and researchers from various disciplines in the development process by building an interdisciplinary, intergenerational, international design team. KidStory develops the currently available technology to inherently support social learning experiences while concurrently developing novel technologies that can be used in the learning environments of tomorrow.

The third year of the project is now completed (deliverables found here). In the third and final year we extended our focus beyond shared objects to consider the physical space within which the storytelling objects of the second year are located. We designed and constructed different kinds of room-size reactive spaces within which both physical and virtual storytelling objects can be located. Multiple children will be able to explore these physical spaces and interact with them through gesture, movement or other forms of "less-encumbered" interaction.
