Pictures of SCAI 2008 and 25th anniversary of Swedish AI
SCAI 2008 - the 10th Scandinavian Conference on Artificial Intelligence - opened with an afternoon dedicated to the celebration of a quarter of a century of AI research in Sweden as SAIS, the Swedish Artificial Intelligence Society, celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Invited speakers were
- Kathleen McCormick, USA, on "The Many Faces of Biosurveillance".
- Manfred Jaeger, Denmark, on "Probabilistic Modeling and Learning in a Relational World".
- Agnar Aamodt, Norway, on "Case-based reasoning for advice-giving in data-intensive enviromnents".
- Erik Sandewall, Sweden, on "Artificial Intelligence - past, present and future".
- Patrick Doherty, Sweden, on "Integrating AI and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technologies".
- Carl Gustaf Jansson, Sweden, on "Impressions from Swedish AI through the years".
The conference and the jubilee took place 26-28 of May in the beautiful venue of IVA (Ingenjörsvetenskapsakademien) in the centre of Stockholm. They were organized by SICS and SAIS, the Swedish Artificial Intelligence Society.
