REA - Routing Architectures Evaluation

The REA project will analyze and compare proposals made by the Routing Research Group , part of the Internet Research Task Force. These proposals suggest new methods of dealing with the scalability issues the internet core sffers from today. They suggest ways of providing edge net multi homing, address indirection (identifier/locator split), name space splits (core and edge addressing) using varying solutions. The project also include an implementation and review of components common to the proposals.

The design goals of the Routing Research Group include

  • Improve Routing Scalability
  • Support scalable traffic engineering
  • Support multi homing
  • Support mobility

The REA project is a cooperation between SICS and Ericsson Nomadic lab.
