Röde Orm
Entity-based models combined with data farming are a promising technology for concept exploration and battlefield planning. Project Albert is
developing a suite of models with differing capabilities in order to explore the robustness
and capacities of the models. The two main models are MANA (Map-Aware Non-Uniform Automata) and pythagoras.
Within project "Röde Orm", the
Swedish National Defense College wishes to explore how these models can actually be put into place and, later, which effects they will have on squadrons and planning operations. The user interface of the applications for inputing the description of the scenario and the entities' behaviour currently demands a high-level of understanding of the underlying model. The ICE laboratory at SICS has been commissioned to look into these issues and to provide novel solutions to allow the model and the tools to be used by less experienced people on the field.
