Systems Governance Focus Area
In the Systems Governance Focus Area we use policy-based methods for
meeting industry demand for governance and control of aggregations of
interdependent systems and services. The research focuses on methods for
meeting global constraints on aggregations through local governance of
the individual systems. The research can be applied to demands including
security and privacy policies, dynamic resource allocation policies,
dynamic priority policies, dynamic service creation and configuration,
context-dependent steering mechanisms, and governance under uncertainty.
The research activities include
* gathering of user requirement
* modelling both of the governance systems and of the aggregations and
systems under study
* specification of governance mechanisms
The Systems Governance Focus Area currently has the lead in the IAM
projects GOPS, Contracts-based management of shared resources in crises,
Contract-Oriented Software Development for Internet Services. The focus
are is also contributing to the CNS-project Resource Management.
