Everyone interested is welcome to participate at the LEARNING SYSTEMS seminar 1999.

The theme of the seminar is Learning Systems. This includes techniques such as artificial neural networks, statistical modeling, belief networks, induction of rules and decision trees, case based systems, genetic algorithms, heuristic search methods, fuzzy logic, various hybrids of these, and much more.

The technical program will include 5 invited speakers from different disciplines in the learning systems field. There will also be a panel discussion about learning systems.

At the end of the day the formal annual SNNS meeting is held, to which members and potential members of SNNS are welcome. One subject will be the widening of the field of interest from artificial neural networks to learning systems in general, and if this also should be reflected in the name of the present SNNS.

The PROGRAM of the day is this:

09.00 Registration and coffee
09.30 Invited talks:

Stefan Arnborg, NADA, KTH:
How to compute with uncertainties

Jacob Carlström, DOCS, Uppsala University:
Reinforcement learning and Markov decision problems
