This is a demo illustrating some of the protocols used to maintain consistency of distributed Mozart entities. For a full understanding of these you should read the tutorial Distributed Programming in Mozart found in the documentation of Mozart. The Distributed Mozart Simulator is a nice tool for demonstrations like the one above, but can also be (and is) used to develop and evaluate new protocols for distributed Mozart. It runs on top of a plain Message Simulator enabling simulation of any type of messaging protocols. Previous versions of this has been used in education (Computer Systems at KTH). It is documented and will be available via the MOGUL archive. DocumentationDocumentation of how to write your own scenarios is available. Full documentation will come.Using MozartYou must have Mozart installed and enabled in your browser. Info on how to do this can be found at Mozart Installation Manual and Making Netscape Mozart Enabled.Under Windows the simulator only works with the not yet released version of Mozart, installed in a directory with now spaces, e.g. c:\mozart\. A beta version of this can be downloaded from here. Known bugsAfter being run for a long time, the simulator may hang. |
