The Convene project

Convene is a project that aims to investigate whether it is possible to modify and use MUDs as a means to enhance communication between disabled users. On the technical side we investigate multimodal solutions (using speech and rapid typing techniques) and agents (both as a means to aid users to find information and navigation, but possible also as proxies). On the communication side, we want to investigate what sort of problems disabled users encounter when they face a real-time, fast, communication platform as a MUD.

The project started on the 1st of January in 1997. It is finansed by KFB and NUTEK.
