SICS Seminar Series:
Combinatorial Optimization and Constraint Technology
This seminar series is intended to be a forum for interaction for
people interested in combinatorial optimization problems and methods
for modelling and solving such problems. Specifically, I would like
to try and bring together people from the diverse scientific camps
working on such problems: the OR/mathematical programming, constraint
programming, connectionist, stochastic search, and approximation
algorithm communities, to name a few. Up to now, there has been
little interaction between researchers in these areas, and I believe
we have a lot to learn from each other.
I have in mind quarterly one-day seminars, with 5-6 talks or
tutorials per seminar. The talks will be informal, presenting
ongoing research thus giving an opportunity for feed-back,
constructive criticism, and inspirations for new directions of work.
Tutorials on specific topics are particularly welcome. There will be
no formal proceedings or registration fees.
Contributions are solicited! If you would like to present something,
please send me a title, abstract, and any time constraints.
In particular, given the mixed background of the audience, one or two
talks giving overviews of the basic concepts and methods are solicited.
A mailing list of interested people is
maintained. Please send me a
message if you want to be added to the list.
