piak's Allkonst (Multi art) Video page

These videos are demonstrations and documentation of a series of Multi art experiments performed at Fylkingen during 2008-2009 The experiments include improvisations in several art forms organised around simple spatial restrictions created with lighting and using projected images. Voiced poetry and improvised music accompany dance movement through these spaces.

Please note: These video files are intended for download, not live streaming. This, said, streaming over http may work for you if you have a good enough connection, or set up adequate buffering. For most uses, the smaller version (480p) will be adequate. Use the larger one (720p) if you really need to, or if you have problems with the smaller one. The container format is mpeg4 and should be QuickTime compatible with a H.264 codec.

3 Lights 25:30 720p 480p

A long dance and music improvisation within a space defined by three coloured lights and black vertical pillar. Very nice demonstration of improvised flow with different tempii, constellations of dancers and musicians and their interactions.

1 Light Intro 5:30 720p 480p

A short, introductory improvisation for two dancers, autopoet piano and guitar. The scenic space is built with a single white light and a black vertical pillar which creates high contrast shadows for the dancers to move through. This space is further explored in the following two pieces but this one documents the spontaneous reaction of the dancers on the space. Playful.

The autopoet is a small computer program, written in PD (pure data) that interleaves prerecorded voiced text fragments with piano pieces created by an analysis of the tonal characteristics of a voice reading text. In this piece, it is set to generate only the voice based piano sounds with a variable delay between fragments.

Concept by Yolanda Alonzo-Bothén, piak and Jocke Roséen. Dance by piak & Johanna Södermark. Guitar by Jocke Roséen. Autopoet piano transcriptions of voice, text, voice and autopoet programming, camera, editing and video production by piak.

1 Light Duo 20:13 720p 480p

Longer dance improvisation around single prop lit by single spot. Illustrates typical contact impro style improvised duo between two experienced improvisers. Audio is a sparse autopoet performance interspersed by extended techniques guitar.

Concept by Yolanda Alonzo-Bothén, piak and Jocke Roséen. Dance by piak & Johanna Södermark. Piano by Jocke Roséen. Text, voice and autopoet programming, camera, editing and video production by piak.

1 Light Traktat 21:34 720p 480p

Contrast Intro 3:10 720p 480p
