These videos are demonstrations and documentation of a series of urban dance installations performed at various locations 2009-... The main idea is produce a more or less improvised dance performance inspired by the spatial properties of the chosen location. No prior announcement of the event is distributed outside the circle of performers and any audience gathering during the performance is coincidental. The camera is used as our "eye", enclosing and giving orientation to the space.
This is ongoing work and we invite you contact us if you wish to contribute to the work.
Please note: These video files are intended for download, not live streaming. This, said, streaming over http may work for you if you have a good enough connection, or set up adequate buffering. For most uses, the smaller version (480p) will be adequate. Use the larger one (720p) if you really need to, or if you have problems with the smaller one. The container format is QuickTime (.mov) using a H.264 codec.
Three short duos shot at a mini golf course in Vasastan, Stockholm. The pieces are improvised using elements of a simple score that is reused in several takes with different audio. The audio used was a random selection of prerecorded tunes from piak's collection (radio piak).
Concept and dance by Kai Eng & piak.

Two short and one longer piece shot at an installation in the tunnel under Brunkebergsåsen in central Stockholm on 2009-10-13. The narrow tunnel restricts and directs the improvised movements of the dancers and encourage them to interact with the passing public. The music is made in two very diffent temperaments and the dancers contribute increasingly to the audio track as the improvisation evolves.

Johanna Södermark, Sviatlana Viarbitskaya, piak et. al.
