Construction of the outer square and bhupur (gates) of yantras

The construction used here is based on a square of fixed size circumscribed by a circle. The circle is divided into sixteen equally sized sections, eighth of which are used to determine the size and position of outer part of the four gates. The size of the inner part of the the gates is given by the intersection of the side of the inner square and a straight line connecting corresponding corners of the outer parts of two adjacent gates.
