I am a senior researcher in the Lab of Computer and Network Architectures (CNA) at SICS, the Swedish Institute of Computer Science. Meanwhile, I am also associated with the Institute of Information Systems at the Northern Jiaotong University in Beijing, China, as a professor and Ph.D. supervisor. I have a B.S. degree (1985) in computer science and a Ph.D. degree (1996) in operations research. Previously, I have also worked with the Port of Tianjin Authority in China, Technical University of Crete in Greece, and Nokia China R&D Center in Beijing, in computer engineering related areas. My research experiences cover communication networks, operations research, intelligent control, electronic commerce, and my current research interests focus on traffic engineering (protocol enhancements, traffic optimizations, QoS, ...) in mobile Internet and grid computing.

I have published more than 80 papers in refereed journals and conferences. I am also an author or co-author of 11 books, and a holder of three international patents in the next generation Internet area. 

I was awarded the title of "Excellent Young Professor" by the Education Ministry of China in 1999, the title of "Excellent Scientific Researcher for the Years 1996-2000" by the Northern Jiaotong University in Beijing China in 2000, the title of "Nokia Inventor" by the Nokia China R&D Center in Beijing China in 2001, the title of "Principal Professor" by the Northern Jiaotong University in Beijing China in 2002, and the title of "Senior Software Talent" by the Shenyang government, China in 2003, and the "Excellent Course Lecturer" on the university course of electronic commerce by the Education Ministry of China in 2004.
