Game Art at Mejan Labs

John Paul Bichard from Art & Technology participtates in the group exhibition Game Art at Mejan Labs from August 30 to October 7.

Opening on Thursday 30 August 17:00–21:00.John Paul Bichard will present a performance work that engages the bloody conflicts inherent in many video games. – Evidencia #003, is the fourth work in a series of artworks that explore the boundary between the 'real' and the digital game space. The performance is a collaborative work with dancer Mira Mutka andaccompanied by the music of artist Edwin Morris.By contrasting the spectacle of constructed violence with the banality of a crime scene, the piece brings into question our relationship with constructed conflict and our apparent appetite for it. In exploring the border between the real and fictional, between violence and evidence: inverting the role of the forensic scientist, Bichard invites the viewer to act as silent witness to an implied fatal incident.Game Art at Mejan Labs is open 30 August–7 October. Open Tuesday–Friday 11:00–17:00, Saturday–Sunday 12:00–16:00.Read more about the Evidencia series >>To Mejan Labs web site >>
