SICS Data Science Day 2015

Get the latest news on Data Analytics! We talked about Deep Learning, Machine Learning, the next-generation distribution of Apache Hadoop for "normal people", and other new technology you want to know about. This was a half day seminar event.

For the second half of the day we managed to secure Danny Bickson and Guy Rapoport from Dato Inc. for a full tutorial and in depth look at GraphLab Create. This was hands-on for you who want to learn about tools for advanced analytics.

October 21 at Kista Science Tower. The day was part of SICS Software Week.
SICS Data Science Day was sponsored by EIT Digital.

SICS Software Week is a great opportunity to extend your personal network in your field – but if you really could not make it to Kista on the 21th of October, you will find most of the seminars recorded for streaming on demand as well as the presentations for downloading via this page.

13:30-16:00 Graph lab Create tutorial

Special Afternoon Session lead by Danny Bickson and Guy Rapoport from Dato Inc.

GraphLab Create is a Python based machine learning framework geared towards ease of use and high performance over multicore machines, GPU arrays and clusters. GraphLab Create includes tools for data engineering, modelling and deployment. In this hands-on tutorial we learnt how to build our first predictive application using GraphLab Create.
