Best paper award at Euromicro Software Engineering conference

1 September, 2014 - 16:25

At the recent 40th Euromicro Conference on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications in Verona, Italy, a paper written by Jakob Axelsson, Avenir Kobetski (image), Ze Ni, Shuzhou Zhang, and Eilert Johansson from the SICS Software and Systems Engineering Lab received the best paper award. Out of 134 submitted papers, three contributions were awarded based on the scientific reviewers’ rankings. The SICS paper is entitled “MOPED: A Mobile Open Platform for Experimental Design of Cyber-Physical Systems”, and describes a test bed consisting of a model car, which is equipped with electronics and software very similar to a real car. This gives researchers and educators a possibility to experiment with future solutions for realistic systems. At SICS, the test bed is used for, among other things, research on the Internet of Cars, systems-of-systems engineering, and software ecosystems.
