EuroDIG, this year in Sofia June 4-5, is an annual conference on Internet Governance, bringing together state, private and civil society actors interested in questions regarding the development of the internet, how the internet is being governed and in bridging the digital divide.

Jacob Dexe from SICS will be speaking on the panel called "Privacy and data protection in the emerging world of big data and new services" together with Dr Louise Bennet from BCS - the Chartered Institute for IT, Professor Bhaskar Choubey, University of Oxford, and Mr. Ventsislav Karadiov, Data Protection Commissioner of Bulgaria.

Jacob will discuss how you can think of privacy as a contextual concept which requires active choices from individuals as well as public and private actors, as well as highlight the need for private actors to take more responsibility over how they handle consumer data.
