Re-Mobiling, breaking apart time and technology

Currently mobile phones are monolithic devices where all functions are stuffed into a single package. Furthermore, they have become a centralized and persistent log of certain aspects of users' lives, through e.g. call and sms logs. The re-mobiling project aims to challenge the design of such core features, but also mobile phones themselves, based on findings from a study performed in Vanuatu, an island culture where mobile technology was recently introduced, as well as previous design explorations performed within the Centre.
