My current research interests are focused on the question of how to efficiently develop robust and flexible large-scale industrial software-based systems, with a special focus on systems of interconnected embedded systems. This non-trivial question includes a number of challenges within such disciplines as software development processes, system architecting, distributed control, conflict resolution, (formal) methods and tools, as well as scheduling issues. While focusing on software-related questions, it is important to always keep in mind system specific requirements, such as for example robustness, verification, schedulability, and dependability.
I received my M.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in 2002. Some years later, in 2006 and 2008 respectively, I followed it up with a Ph.Lic. and a Ph.D. degrees from Chalmers University of Technology. My research topics included flexible manufacturing, discrete event systems, supervisory control theory, formal verification and discrete optimization / scheduling. The first years after my dissertation I worked at Scania R&D with the development of control strategies and their implementation in engine control units.
