Mobile Learning Environment

Mobile Learning Environment (MLE) is a Nordic project that continues the research of pervasive games that started in IPerG project. Seven partners from three different countries (Sweden, Denmark, Finland) are part of this project: GRUL, HiQ, Malmö Högskola, Nokia, Nordic Innovation, SICS, and University of Tampere.

In this project the focus is on learning abilities of pervasive mobile games. During this project one pervasive game is designed and developed to meet the demand of both teachers and students.

The implementation of the game is done for three different platforms. The main target of this project is to study what kinds of effects technology has on player experience and learning. In more detail our goals are:

  • Produce guidelines and concrete measures to be used by the future developers of MLE applications.
  • Produce policy recommendations on how MLEs could be implemented in Nordic schools to policy makers on a governmental and regional level.
  • Produce recommendations for future platform standardisations of MLE.
  • Produce an analysis of business development issues and potentials in the Nordic region.
