Multimodal strategies to promote a healthy brain in aging: Innovative evidence-based tools

The goal of MULTI-MODE is to make evidence-based ICT tools for predicting dementia risks available to individuals. The tools that SICS will help provide are also intended to mitigate and prevent cognitive decline among at-risk individuals, thereby assisting them and their care-givers. The project is led by the Karolinska Aging Research Center (KI/ARC), from where researchers will use results from an earlier multi-modal preventive program (the FINGER study). A front-end in the form of an app for citizens, with a back-end for healthcare staff will be completed and validated. Non-medical data from the back-end will be processed using state-of-the-art data analytics algorithms, at all times respecting the privacy of the individuals involved. The project will also engage in educational and knowledge dissemination activities among the general public and health professionals.
