MultiMode - Dementia Risk Tool Applications

The “Dementia Risk Tool” mobile app is a self-assessment tool that allows people to get an estimate of their risk of developing Alzheimer’s and dementia within the next twenty years. The app poses a series of questions, concerning their lifestyle and medical condition, and then calculates a risk score for developing cognitive impairment on the answers. As a result the app also indicates which plausible factors that users can consider addressing in order to lower the score, e.g., increase their physical activity. Some of these indications may require substantial life style changes that is best discussed together with a doctor, and the role of the app is to help facilitate this first step. Furthermore, the app is based on various dementia risk score models developed within the scope of the project, as well as previously existing verified models.
