Self-Organizing ICT Resource Management (SORMA)

SORMA deals with the development of methods and tools for an efficientmarket-based allocation of resources, through a self-organizingresource management system. In the project, we are developing protocols and tools for  open Gridmarkets, economics-driven Grid middleware, and intelligent tools. Our hypothesis is that brokerage of resources over the Grid willbenefit Grid consumers, resource owners, outsourcing providers, andnew intermediaries.  It will make it possible to easily create entirely newservices that are able to scale to internet size. The project is a collaboration between 12 international partners fromacademia and industry.  SORMA is funded by the EU as a STREP(Strategic Targeted Research Project) and funded by the IST programmein FP6.
