I am a senior researcher at SICS and hold a Ph.D. from Uppsala university. My main research interests are multi-device services (services that are used from different types of devices) and mobile computing in general. In those areas I am specifically interested in user oriented issues and what happens when users and technology meet in the real world.

current projects

Next Generation Digital Office Tools, 2010 (Design work and field studies)
A joint project between Telia Sonera and SICS to find the digital services of the future. Funded by Vinnova.

M3EGAS, 2010-2012
The goal of the ME3Gas project is to put consumers in control of their energy efficiency and appliances at home to allow energy-saving usage without compromising comfort or convenience. The utilization of intelligent concepts is what makes energy smart, and is the heart of energy efficiency technologies. Through energy-intelligent control, regulation and communication we can expect to see further improvements in energy yield.

previous projects

Koll på läget, 2008-2009
The project Koll på läget was a collaboration between SICS, Squace AB and Nockeby förskolor, and created information tools to support the communication between parents and teachers in preschool.

KUND, 2008-2009 (Project Management and design work)
KUND is studying real-life use of mobile services, in particular web browsing from cellular phones. The goal of the project is to identify patterns of use and contextual, technical and infrastructural factors that influence user behavior.

COMPANIONS, 2006-2009 (Requirements gathering and design work)
The main project focus is emotional conversational agents as persistent companions for users in carrying out activities within their personal digital space, such as organising image and text records of their lives as coherent narratives.

SAW, 2004-2005 (Project management and field studies)
Project about Situation Awareness in military command and control situations. Field studies were carried out to inform the design of future command and control systems how to support situation awareness. Funded by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration.

MSILED, 2004 (Project management)
Pilot project to investigate which HCI issues that was to be prioritized in the requirements gathering for the Swedish Defence's new command and control system.

DUMAS, 2001-2004 (Technical work)
The DUMAS (Dynamic Universal Mobility for Adaptive Speech Interfaces) project developed multi-lingual speech-based applications, focusing on intelligent and ambient interaction management with a special emphasis on naturalness that takes into account the user's personalised needs.

ADAPT, 2001-2004 (Technical work with programming and design).
ADAPT project investigated automatic adaptation of services in open systems (e.g. the World Wide Web) as a means to meeting the challenges that diverse user groups and sets of devices pose to service providers. The project treated general aspects of automatic adaptation in open systems to some degree, but the emphasis was placed on two areas: adapting towards preferences of users and adapting towards properties of devices.

SCHOLNET, 2000-2003 (Technical work)
European project with the goal of creating an architecture for open multi-media digital libraries.
